Eula was born Feb. 9, 1920, in Burlington to Conrad Kraft and Elizabeth Schupbach Kraft and passed from this life on Tuesday, Aug. 19, 2014, at her home in Cherokee, Okla.
On Feb. 8, 1948, she married John T. Elliott in Stella, Mo. Their family included three children, Nancy, John and Jim.
Eula had lived in this area for 70 years, moving from Pekin, Ill.
Eula was famous for her world class fried chicken and egg noodles. Her days were filled with gardening, playing cards and spending time with her dear friends and family in Cherokee.
She was a member of United Methodist Church in Cherokee, where she participated in UMW activities.
Those left to cherish Eula’s memory include her children, Nancy Dourneen and husband Phil and Jim R. Elliott and wife Paula; two grandchildren, Casey Quinn Elliott and Michele K. Willson; two great-grandchildren, Emelee and Ryan Willson; and her sister, Irene Kisling.
Her husband, John Elliott, and her son, John Elliott Jr., preceded her in death.
We will all miss her quick wit and wonderful sense of humor.
Funeral service for Eula will be 10 a.m. Friday, Aug. 22, 2014, at Cherokee United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Robert Duran officiating.
Burial will follow at Cherokee Municipal Cemetery, with arrangements by Lanman Funeral Home Inc. of Cherokee. There will be no viewing. (www.lanman memorials.com)
Memorials may be given to Cherokee United Methodist Women through the funeral home.
