Mrs. Adrianna De Weerd, age 90, of Orange City, passed away Wednesday, August 13, at the Orange City Municipal Hospital.
Funeral services were held on Friday, August 15, at 10:00 a.m. at the Calvary Christian Reformed Church in Orange City. Pastor Jack Gray officiated. Interment followed at West Lawn Cemetery in Orange City. VanEtten-Oolman-VanGelder Funeral of Orange City directed the service.
Adrianna was born April 15, 1907, at Orange City, the daughter of William Maas and Fannie (Granstra) Van Peursem. She was raised at Orange City.
On June 27,1930, she married Teunis "Tony" De Weerd. They farmed south of Orange City. Mr. De Weerd passed away July 25, 1974, at Orange City.
She then moved into Orange City. In July of 1994, she became a resident of the Pioneer Memorial Home in Orange City.
Mrs. De Weerd was a member of the Calvary Christian Reformed Church, where she participated in Harmony Workers in earlier years.
Survivors include her son and his wife, Harold and Bernice De Weerd, of Delavan, Wisconsin; daughter and her husband, Phyllis and Wesley De Kock, of Orange City; five grandchildren, Sheryl De Weerd; Lori De Weerd; Scott De Kock, and his wife, Becky; Brian De Kock, and his wife, Patty; and Kelly De Kock; three greatgrandchildren; Brandon, Jessica, and Katelyn De Kock; and a brother, the Rev. William Van Peursem, of Ontario, California.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Barbara De Weerd; two infant grandchildren; three brothers; and three sisters.
