Union, W Va, Sept 23. - Mrs Alice Malinda McGuire entered into rest at the home of her brother, Mr Walter W Spangler at Union, on Thursday night last, Sept 14, at 11 o'clock. She had been in her usual health until the preceding Sunday when she was taken ill with rheumatism which quickly developed into an acute form of Bright's disease. Despite everything that could be done for her, she died five days later. She was the only daughter of the late Mr and Mrs Lewis Spangler and was born at Union 53 years ago. In her young womanhood she became the wife of Harvey McGuire. After a short residence in West Virginia, they moved to Plant City, Florida, and there her husband died Jan 13, 1910. A year of two later her children being married and comfortably situated, Mrs McGuire came back to her native town and made her home with her brother Walter. She is survived by two children, Frank McGuire and Mrs May House of Plant City, Fla, and three brothers, Messrs B P of Fort Spring, Hubert of Peterstown and W W Spangler of Union. Her children arrived here last Saturday. Funeral services were held at the residence at 2:30 o'clock on Sunday afternoon, conducted by Rev G W Richardson. On Monday morning the long journey to Florida was begun, the remains of this good woman, accompanied by her children, being taken to Plant City and there laid to repose by the side of her husband.
