Blanche M. Akin, 83, of Brighton Township, passed away Wednesday, December 26, 2012, in Beaver Valley Nursing and Rehabilitation in South Beaver Township.
She was born January 3, 1929, in New Brighton and was the daughter of the late Ralph and Margaret Bisencamp Bixler. Blanche was a member of the Monaca United Methodist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Marion C. Akin, on December 9, 1996.
Surviving are her son, Bernie Akin, Brighton Township; daughters, Marian Udon, Industry; Janice (Randy) Wolf, Leetonia, OH; Bernice (Mike) Ruffner, Industry, and Tina (Tom) Usselman, Brighton Township; grandchildren, Paul Udon Jr., Holly Ratkovich, Tiffany Inman, Michael Ruffner and Adam Cujas; great-grandchildren, Paul William Udon, Gabriella, Eva and Cody Ratkovich, Madilyn Inman and Rosci Cujas; a brother, Ralph Bixler, and sisters, Margaret Coles and Dorothy Smith.
Friends will be received today from 6 to 8 p.m. in the TODD FUNERAL HOME, 340 Third St., Beaver, where a funeral service will be conducted Saturday at 10:30 a.m. by Reverend Keith Black.
