Virginia Rayburn Williams, 94, of Ashland, Ky., passed away at Carter Nursing and Rehabilitation Center on Friday, December 28, 2012.

She was born on August 3, 1918, in Emerson, Ky., to the late Roscoe and Daisy Lee Fannin Rayburn.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her loving husband of 64 years, Paul Worric Williams in 2002, and a brother, Lloyd Rayburn and two sisters, Edith Adkins and Audrey Taylor.

She was a charter member of the 13th Street Baptist Church and was very active in PTA where she served as President and received a lifetime membership. She was a devoted homemaker and a loving wife, mother and grandmother.

Surviving are a son, Paul Richard (Donna) Williams, daughters, Sharon Gayle (Kenneth) Grizzle and Veronica Lynn (Mark) Hickman all of Ashland, Ky., sisters, Mary Jean McGuire of Fairfield, OH., Jo Ann Kemper of Orlando, FL., and Ardieth Winget of Prattsville, AK., sister in law, Lillian Rayburn of Ashland, and six grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, December 30, 2012, at Steen Funeral Home-13th Street Chapel, with Pastor Bill Parker officiating. Entombment will follow in Rose Hill Burial Park Mausoleum.

Visitation will be from 1to 2 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
