Visitation will be Wednesday from 4PM - 9PM and Thursday from 8AM until service time at Cox Funeral Home.
She is preceded in death by her husband, J.W. Thames; son, J.W. Thames Jr.; parents, William Hoyt Brumley and Gertrude "Ninnie" Brumley; brothers, Ruhl Brumley, Wilton Brumley, and Willie Brumley; sister, Gladys Bradford.
Vernice is survived by her son, Ronnie of Monticello, Mississippi; daughter and son-in-law, Connie and Derwin of Monticello, Mississippi; daughter and son-in-law, Ann and Ron of Kinde, Michigan; son, David of Monticello, Mississippi; 6 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; 3 brothers, Elton of Oak Grove, Louisiana, Walter of Columbus, Mississippi, and Clyde of Oak Grove, Louisiana; 3 sisters, Aliece of Benton, Arkansas, Irene of Oak Grove, Louisiana, and Hazel of Brandon, Mississippi; numerous nieces and nephews.
