She passed away on Oct. 27, 2001 at her home in Mancos, Colorado. Virginia was 76 years old.
On Dec. 1, 1943 in Portland, Ore., Virginia married Marvin "Dutch" Bingham. In 1969 Dutch and Virginia Bingham moved to the Mancos Valley.
She was a devoted sports fan, especially to the Chicago Cubs, St. Louis Cardinals and the Denver Broncos. She also was a loving mother and grandmother to her five grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Virginia is survived by her two children, Terry and Christie Bingham of New Castle, Colo. and Kelly Bingham of Mancos; her grandchildren, Cully Bingham of Andrews, Texas, Thad and Barb Bingham of Fruita, Colo., Britt (Bingham) and Doug Choate of Rifle, Colo., and Matt and Ryan Bingham of Mancos; and one great-grandchild, Tommy Bingham. One sister, Wanda June Ross of Bedford, Iowa and numerous nephews and nieces also survive Virginia.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Dutch March 12, 1994; her parents, two sisters, and one brother.
Ertel Funeral Home handled the arrangements.
Virginia was cremated and her ashes scattered on their home property.
