ERNEST JOHN RUTZ
Ernest John Rutz, 89, of Argyle, died at 4 p.m. Friday at Highland Hospital after four years of failing health. He had lived in the Argyle area for 68 years. He was a retired carpenter.
The son of Fred and Ernestine Neiman Rutz, he was born in Germany on Nov. 14, 1876. His marriage to Amealea Stralow took place in Beloit, Wis., on Dec. 26, 1898. She died in May of 1960.
Mr. Rutz was a member of the Redeemer Lutheran Church of Rockford.
Survivors include three daughters and one son, Harry Rutz, Rockford, Mrs. Hattie Artz, Belvidere, Mrs. Ida A. Jones, rural Caledonia; and Mrs Abbie R. Skinner, R. R. 1, Cherry Valley; 11 grandchildren; 47 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews. A sister, two brothers and one great-grandson preceded Mr. Rutz in death.
The Rev. Edwin Beversdorf of the Redeemer Lutheran Church will officiate at funeral rites at 2 p.. Monday in Buck-Wheeler Funeral Home. Interment will be in Guilford Union Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 7 to 9 p.m.
