Juanita D. Donaldson
Suffolk - Juanita Drake Donaldson, 90, a former long time resident of the 3600 block of Winborne Dr. passed away on Thursday, May 24, 2012 in a Franklin, VA hospital. She was born on April 15, 1922 in Spartanburg, SC; and was preceded in death by her husband, Charles W. Donaldson; her parents, William Drake and Sally McGaha Drake Hill; three sisters, Willie Mae Johnson Fleming, Bessie Drake and Mary Drake; four brothers, Charles Francis Drake, Eugene Linsley Drake, Carlos Drake Cothran and Tommy Drake; and a niece, Shirley M. Moon.
She is survived by her great nieces and nephews; her special friend, Nita Taylor; and her many friends.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 29, 2012 in Meadowbrook Memorial Gardens Mausoleum Chapel, 4569 Shoulders Hill Rd., Suffolk 23435. Entombment will follow. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Sturtevant Funeral Home, Bennetts Creek Chapel is handling these services.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The American Cancer Society.
