Mary Evelyn Cannady Murray, 84, formerly of 370 Syphrit Road, widow of Luther Orin Murray, died December 24, 2012 at Alpha Health and Rehab. A native of Spartanburg County, daughter of the late Irby Lawrence and Alice Rose Miller Cannady, she was a homemaker and a member of Loree United Methodist Church. Surviving is a daughter, Sherry Lynn McAbee of Wellford and a grandson, James Anthony Murray of Greenville. Mrs. Murray was predeceased by a son, Lawrence A. (Tony) Murray, a brother, George Cannady, and two sisters, Louise Warren and Juanita Dickerson. Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Thursday at The Wood Mortuary, conducted by Rev. Richard Lewis and Rev. Kempie Shepherd. Burial will follow in Fort Prince Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held 6:00-8:00 p.m. Wednesday at The Wood Mortuary. The family is at the home.
