PAUL EMIL RICHARD GOLISCH was born 21 Jun 1878 in Rampitz, Western Sternberg, Kreis, Brandenburg, Germany. He was called Richard, and died 28 Sep 1965 in West Allis, Milwaukee, Wisconsin, United States. He married HULDA GOERS, 23 Jun 1903 in Shawano, Wisconsin, United
States. She was born Sep 1883 in Wisconsin, and died 23 Jul 1965 in Wausau, Marathon, Wisconsin.

In 1911, Richard was 33. They moved into a farm they had purchasd three miles West of Wausau, across from this father's farm., on what is now know as Stewart Avenue, just beyond the Little Rib River, 80 acres. Highway 29 now runs across the farm. The location is imporatnt because it is also the location of Grandfather Eduard's farm, perhaps his first owned property in the United States, and the home of all of his children while they were growing up.

Later Richard purchased another 40 acres just west of his first plot. This was not cultivated, virgin land, covered with underbrush and big pine stumps. To the South of this property was 40 acres belonging to the Northwestern Railroad through the middle of which ran the tracks from the East to West. Later another 80 acres was purchased of which about half was under cultivation. It was bordered on the South by big Rib River. Thus, Richard farmed about 240 acres of which by the time he sold it about 100 acres was under cultivation.

Over the years, a dairy heard was developed and barns were built plus other necessary buildings. A milk route was started early in Wausau, with milk at first being delivered in cans, the delivery man bring it to the kitchen in a can and emptying the desired amount in a container the housewife had available. Later, glass bottles were used and steam powered washing machine was acquired. State sanitation requirement followed. At first, it was called Hillside Dairy but later the name was changed to Golden Rule Dairy. The milk route was eventually sold out to Kleinheinz Dairy Company in Wausau together with many other such milk routes.

From grade Holstein cattle he updated his flock to pure bred Holsteins. He served his community as treasurer of the Town of Stettin School District and also was town constable at one time of the township. His brother Otto, who lived in the township also, was township road commissioner. His youngest brother Walter stayed on the farm with his father until either his mother died or he was married.

In 1920, the US was in a several financial Depression and Richard's best efforts were failing. He had to sell out in order to pay his bills. He and Hulda moved to Milwaukee where he had various jobs, including government relief jobs. His last employment was as a warehouseman for Milwaukee Stamping Company in West Allis, Wisconsin. He eventually retired and lived to be 87. He died one morning of heart failure in his chair after breakfast. He lies at rest in Wausau's Pine Grove Cemetery since September 28, 1965 with two of his children and his beloved wife Hulda.
