Matron at Gordon Children's Home Dies at Hospital

Mrs. Emma N. Senour, 76, died at the Major Hospital Monday morning at 3:10 o'clock following an illness of about three weeks.

For over twenty years Mrs. Senour had been matron at the Gordon's Children Home, east of Shelbyville. She resigned this position recently.

She was born in Franklin County on Jan. 6, 1861 the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Newton Gant. On Feb. 21, 1884 she was married to John M. Senour who died several years ago.

Surviving are one son, Ralph of near this city; one grandchild, Mrs. Frances Eldridge of Texas and one great-grandchild. Two half-sisters also survive. They are Mrs. Eva Fey of Rushville and Mrs. Ida Baker of Red Cloud, Neb.

Mrs. Senour was a member of the First Methodist Church of this city and a former member of the Naamah Chapter No. 73, order of Eastern Star.

Funeral services will be held at 2 o'clock Wednesday afternoon at the Sleeth Funeral Home with Dr. J.W. McFall pastor of the First Methodist Church officiating.

Burial will be in forest Hill Cemetery in charge of Morris Sleeth, Funeral Director.

Friends may call at the Sleeth Mortuary anytime after 12 o'clock Tuesday noon.
