BOSSIER CITY, LA - Funeral services for William Needham "Sonny" Ball, Sr. will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, December 23, 2012 at Bossier City First Church of God. Officiating will be Rev. Michael Brady, pastor of the church. Interment will follow at Rose-Neath Cemetery. Visitation will be at the church from 1 p.m. until 2 p.m. prior to the service.
Sonny was born December 17, 1930 in Eudora, AR and died December 21, 2012 in Shreveport, LA. He was a member of the Bossier City First Church of God and was retired from the oil and gas industry.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Needham and Alice Elizabeth Ball; son, William Needham Ball, Jr., M.D.; sister, Janet Prince and nephew, David Prince.
Sonny is survived by his wife, Frances Slayter Ball; son, Edward Ball and wife Michele; daughters, Sherrie Murphy and husband Ronnie, Margaret Judice; daughter-in-law, Betsy Ball, M.D.; grandchildren, Vanessa Stott, Dana Hesson and husband Matt, Aubrey Judice and five great grandsons.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to Bossier City First Church of God, Asbury United Methodist Church in Bossier City, Fellowship United Methodist Church in Bossier City or to Christus Schumpert Grace Home in Shreveport.
