"On July 20, 1973, he married Deborah Jean Cubbage, who survives. Surviving in addition to his wife are four daughters, Missy Thomas, Tracy Cubbage and Stacy Cubbage, all of Stanley, and Becky Pence-Brill of Luray; a son, C.L. Pence of Elkton; a step daughter, Laura Campbell of Stanley; two brothers, Roy Allen Cubbage of Mt. Crawford, and Brian Cubbage of Stanley; nine grandchildren;and two great-grandchildren. He was preseded in death by a brother, Harrison Lee "H.L." Cubbage; and one grandchild.
A funeral servicewill be conducted at 2 pm on Thursday, Dec. 27, at the Lighthouse Gospel Church by Pastor Frank Paintet and Evangelist Earl E. Painter. Burial will be in the Cubbage Family Cemetery in Stanley."
