Apparently as she got older she dropped the name Belle. She appears on the 1900 and 1910 as Belle I.

Mrs. Irene Evans, 73, 226 E. Colliery Ave., Tower City, was found dead in her home yesterday afternoon by a relative. Deputy Coroner Stewart Dreisigacker said death was due to natural causes.


Mrs. Evans was born in Tower City, daughter of the late Ananias and Frances Kessler Shuey. Her husband, James Franklin Evans, died in 1963.


Surviving are four brothers, Grant Shuey, Middletown; Ralph Shuey, Orwin; Lloyd Shuey, Harrisburg; Arthur Shuey, New Cumberland; two sisters, Mrs. Dora Barndt, Elizabethtown; Mrs. Annie Hoffman, Tucson, Ariz.


Funeral services will be Saturday morning from the Stewart Dreisigacker Funeral Home, with the Rev. Elmer Clouse, pastor of the United Methodist Parish, officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery.
