C. E. Devault, 68, is Stricken Suddenly
Charles E. Devault, aged 68, died suddenly Monday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock in the Martins Ferry hospital. He was admitted to the hospital three weeks ago and death was attributed to a heart attack.
He was born at Glenn's Run near Martins Ferry on July 2, 1866. His parents were Robert L. Devault, native of Colerain township and Elvira Collins, native of England. For the past several years he had been a resident of Barton where he was formerly employed in the coal mines.
The deceased was one of a family of five, two sisters of whom survive him. They are Mrs. John Paxson of Brookside and Miss Emma Devault of Martins Ferry. The remains were taken to the Howard H. Wilson funeral home where they will be pending funeral arrangements. Burial will be made in Farmington Cemetery. The time and day of the services will be announced later.
