Miss Jane Beal Barrett, passed away at her
home in Perry, Oklahoma, and was buried
beside her mother and father in the Frank-
fort Cemetery on Wednesday.
She was the daughter of Uriah and Nancy
Barrett, and the youngest of seven children
She is survived by five brothers and one
sister; Mrs. Ruth Tillotson, Hillory Barrett
Fremont Barrett, Seth Barrett and David
K. Barrett, all of Oklahoma and Parker
Barrett, California.
She was born on the old farm just south of
Frankfort, Kansas, 44 years ago on May
18, 1867. She moved with her mother to
near Coyle, Oklahoma ten years ago. She
made her home in Perry, Oklahoma.
She had been in failing health for some
time, but no one thought her condition
at the time was serious. Her death was
sudden heart trouble being the immediate
cause.
Her brothers and one sister accompanied
her remains to Frankfort, where they were
met by a large number of old neighbors
and friends. Services were held in the
Methodist church of which her parents
were life long members.
Jennie Barrett as she was known, was a
product of Quaker ancestry, in which
the large family of elder Barrett’s were
raised.
