Norma Dean Meyer, 79, of Aiken, passed away Monday, December 10, 2012 at Aiken Regional Medical Centers.
The family will receive friends on Thursday evening, 6-8pm at GEORGE FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION CENTER, 211 Park Ave. SW Aiken. Funeral services for Mrs. Meyer will take place on Friday, December 14, 2012 at 2pm at Montmorenci First Baptist Church. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
She had served as a former Voter Registrar for the Aiken County Board of Elections. She has been a member of Montmorenci First Baptist Church, Memorial Baptist Church, and Millbrook Baptist Church. Norma Dean loved tending to the young children in the church nursery while their parents attended church services. She was a founding member of ACTS, (Aiken Churches Together Serving), and later enjoyed being the organist while her husband conducted church services for the elderly in area assisted living homes.
A daughter of the late George Arthur Reed and Florence Barton Reed, she was a lifelong resident of Aiken.
She is survived by her husband, Richard (Dick) L. Meyer, her children and grandchildren.....
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, John A. Reed, and two sisters, Mildred R. Magness and Edna R. Mosley.
