OBITUARY: The Belleville Telescope, January 2, 1969

Anna May Smith, daughter of Chester and Mary C. Ball was born September 21, 1900 near Belleville and died at the Republic County Hospital at the age of 68 years, 3 months and 3 days.

She was married to John G. Smith of Belleville, December 19, 1919. To this union were born two sons and she also mothered two foster children. Her married life was spent on the J. P. Ball homestead.

She received her education at the Summot Point School District 35. She was a member of the Brethern church.

She was preceded ion death by her parents, one brother and an infant sister. Survivors are: her husband; two sons, Osmyn F. of the home and Donald C. of Dewett, Neb.; Lois B Shuggart of Wyoming and Marion S. of New Mexico; three sisters, Pearl M. Kuhn, Bessie L. Frey and Della F. Klaumann, all of Belleville; seven grandchildren and one great-grandson.

Services were conducted December 27 at the Bachelor-Faulkner-Dart Funeral Chapel, Maurice Graham in Charge. Burial was in the Brethern cemetery.
