Mrs. Frances Terry Weir, Edwardsville's oldest resident, died Thursday at 6 p.m. at her home, 715 N. Main street. Death was caused from complications of advanced age. Mrs. Weir, who has been a resident of this city for the past 69 years, was born June 16, 1853, in Jersey County, Illinois, the daughter of the late Jasper and Mary Ann Terry of Otterville, Ill. At the time of her death she had reached the age of 90 years, 9 months and 7 days. She was married in Trinidad, Colo., to Dr. E.H. Weir of Edwardsville on May 18, 1875. Dr. Weir preceded her in death and one son died in infancy. Mrs. Weir was a member of the St. John's Methodist church.
Mrs. Weir is survived by the following daughters, Miss Edna Weir of Edwardsville, Mrs. Charles Von Weise and Mrs. J.W. Hadley, both of Rockford, Mrs. W.O. Hughes of Trenton, Mich., and Mrs. H.C. Armstrong of Webster Groves, Mo. She is also survived by eight grandchildren and six great grandchildren. Nine brothers and one sister also preceded her in death.
The body is at the Lesley Marks Funeral Home and may be viewed Saturday afternoon. Funeral arrangements have not been completed.
