Donald was born in Fargo, N.D., moved to Seattle in 1942 where he spent the rest of his life. He worked as an oil burner technician and was a member of the Electrical Union #46 for 60 years.

He joined the Greenlake Masonic Lodge #149 in 1960 and was the Past Master twice over. Through the years he was a strong supporter of the Seattle Highland Games.
