LEWIS Harry Leon Lewis born April 3, 1925 in the Turner-ville Community of Mobile County AL and a long time resident of Saraland, AL died December 6, 2012. He was a life-long insurance agent. He began his career as an agent for National Life and Accident Insurance Company in 1956 and retired from American General Insurance Company in 1982. He was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church in Saraland, AL where he served as a Deacon, Sunday School Department Leader, Training Union Leader and countless other ways. Harry is preceeded in death by his parents, Ephraim and Melissa Barnette Lewis; an infant granddaughter, Jessica Lynn Terry; two brothers, Pelham and Theo Lewis; and one sister, Joyce Kelly. He is survived by his wife of 56 years Mary Newton Lewis; daughter, Lynn Renee' (Rickey) Terry of Citronelle, AL; two grandsons, Richard Norman (Danna Robinson) Terry of New Iberia, LA and Jonathan Wade Terry (Jennifer Jordan) of Semmes, AL; two great grandsons, four great granddaughters and one great-great granddaughter; three brothers, Roger and Wendell Lewis of Turnerville, AL and Jerral Lewis of Pensacola, FL; two sisters, Esta Lee Carmichael of Mobile, AL and Beulah Hensley of Turnerville, AL; nieces, nephews and many other relatives. Funeral Services will be held in the chapel of Forest Lawn Funeral Home 9700 Celeste Road Saraland, AL at 11:00 A.M. on Monday, December 10, 2012 with a visitation from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. Sunday, December 9, 2012 at the funeral home. Interment will be in Turnerville Cemetery, Roberts Road, Turnerville, AL. The family would like to express our appreciation to the staff of Citronelle Convalescent and Rehabili-tation Center for the care they provided during the last several months of Harry's life. Harry will be greatly missed but we will always remember his congenial personality, his mischievous smile, his passion for deer hunting, his love of gardening and the wonderful vegetables he grew and shared with friends and neighbors. But most of all we will remember him as a man we could count on, our rock to lean on.
