Came to Oregon in 1846. Went to meet his family when they arrived in Oregon in 1852. Died near the Deschutes River of mountain fever.

Andrew J. Vaughn went to California in 1848 with a group of Oregonians from Marion County who were attacked by 'Indians'.
A.J. Vaughn was the only one in the group to escape unharmed.
