She was a former Southington resident, living in Kensington since 1954. Doris was a "Rosie the Riveter" in World War II, and also worked at Sikorsky Aircraft where she was once a passenger on a helicopter flight piloted by Igor Sikorsky. She also held several secretarial jobs, including 12 years at the New Britain YMCA.
