Born in Providence, a son of the late Vira (Gardiner) Edmondson-Gibbs, he lived in Barrington for 4 years, previously living in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., for 15 years.
An avid golfer, he was a member and champion of the Silver Spring Golf Course, East Providence. He was a three-time Rhode Island All-State selection in hockey for Central High School, Providence.
He was a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America Association.
Besides his wife, he leaves a son, Bain M. Edmondson of East Providence; a stepsister, Marjorie Gibbs Clark in Florida; two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He was the stepbrother of the late Bradford Gibbs.
The funeral will be held tomorrow at 8 a.m. from the W. Raymond Watson Funeral Home, 350 Willett Ave., Riverside, with a graveside committal service at 9 at Elmgrove Cemetery, North Kingstown. Burial will follow.
