Mr. Acosta was born September 15, 1940, in Haskell to the late, Nicholas and Anita Acosta. He lived in Abilene his entire adult life. Margarito loved his birds and dogs, Charlie and Tina and he loved his Dallas Cowboy's and the Texas Longhorns. He and Dolores Acosta were married for 54 years.
Survivors include his wife, Dolores of Abilene; two sons, Nick Acosta (Amy) and Tony Acosta (Kay); a daughter, Diane Bayne, all of Abilene; five brothers, Joe Acosta and wife Olga, Pete V. Acosta and wife Mary, Nick Acosta, Jr. and wife Mayara of Brenham, Jessie Acosta and wife Rosie and Christopher Acosta; eight sisters, Margaret Gomez (Santos), Mary A. Stokes and husband Pat, Linda Garza of Austin, Margarita Canales (Guillermo Lopez) of Hereford, Frances Torres (Ramiro) of Brenham, Carmen Flores and husband Robert, Irene Murillo and husband Benny of Brenham and Anita Rios (Alberto Salazar) of Dallas; four grandchildren, Anthony Acosta, Lainey Acosta and Amanda Espinoza of Abilene and Catherine Bayne of Baltimore, Maryland; and a great granddaughter, Adylyne Espinoza of Abilene.
Mr. Acosta was preceded in death by his parents and a son, Margarito Acosta, Jr.
Pallbearers will be Tony Acosta, Ricky Flores, Tyler Lee, Gilbert Acosta, Lupe Sanchez and Andy Garcia. Honorary pallbearers will be Anthony Acosta and Abel L. Sanchez.
