Eliza St. John was born at Elizabeth, Illinois, Sept. 14, 1856, and departed this life in her home at Gratiot, Wis., Nov. 14, 1931, at the age of 75 years and 2 months.
She was married to Charles J. Campbell at Wiota, Wis., Dec. 22, 1878. To this union were born six children, of whom two, John Madison and Minnie, preceded her in death. She leaves to mourn her death, her husband, and four children: Fred of Wiota, Mrs. L.J. Burmeister of Gratiot, Mrs. C.S. Fourt and Mrs. J.B. Angove of Milwaukee; also 12 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild, and a large number of other relatives and friends who will long remember Mrs. Campbell.
Mrs. Campbell never affiliated with any church but took great interest in all religious and temperance work. She was a member of the Eastern Star at South Wayne.
She has been sick for about two years and passed away in the early morning of November 14th.
Funeral services were held in her home at Gratiot and the Wiota Union Church, Nov. 16, conducted by Rev. B.A.J. Meboe of South Wayne. The Eastern Star also gave their beautiful service in the church.
