PARENTS: Adolph and Gertrude (Connolly) Timm
Born in North Dakota, LaVerne moved as a young girl with her family to a homestead farm near Lindsay, Montana where she was raised with her brothers, Paul and Arnold and sisters, Arlene and Patti. After attending country school in Lindsay, she moved to Glendive and lived with relatives in order to attend Dawson County High School. After high school she moved to Glasgow during the construction of the Fort Peck Dam and found work as a cook and house keeper at Mrs. Knoll's boarding house, which co-incidentally was located kitty-corner from Prairie Ridge where she lived the last several years of her life. During her early days in Glasgow, she also worked as a bar maid "slinging beer" at The Rose Room and The Palace Bar. It was during this time that she met another Glasgow "slinger", named Curtis Beede, who owned the Montana Bar. Curt eventually hired her away from the Palace, by promising her a salary of $12.00 per day.
On August 20 1942, more promises were made when Curtis and LaVerne were married in Missoula, Montana. To this union 7 children were born. LaVerne and Curt continued to own and manage Glasgow's famous Montana Bar and Cafe until it was sold in 1958, at which time they established Curt's Clothing Store. This later became Beede's Men’s Wear after Curt's death in 1966, and was owned by LaVerne until 1976.
When not running after kids and tending the affairs of business, LaVerne volunteered for numerous activities associated with St. Raphael’s Catholic Church, VFW, Degree of Honor and the Lady Elks. Over the years, along with her dear friend Loretta Sand, Laverne was responsible for preparation of many community banquets served at St. Raphael’s. She was renowned for the quality and number of pies she could bake and would donate on behalf of numerous fund raising activities.
In retirement, she remained very active in the St. Raphael's Altar Society, and the Glasgow Senior Citizens Center where she was recognized as Senior Citizen of the Year honors in 1980, an honor she deeply cherished. LaVerne loved to play cards and was always available for a game of pinochle or whist.
She was preceded in death by her husband Curtis in 1966 and stepdaughter Alpha Beede in 1999. Ma Beede, was deeply loved, highly respected, and will be forever missed by her entire family.

(Timm) Beede, 93, of Glasgow, who along with her husband owned and operated Glasgow businesses the Montana Bar and Café, which they sold in 1958, then Curt's Clothing, the precursor to Beede's Menswear, which she sold to her son Bill in 1977, died of natural causes Friday at a Glasgow hospital.
A rosary service is 7 p.m. Tuesday at Bell Mortuary Chapel in Glasgow. Her funeral is 2 p.m. Wednesday at St. Raphael's Catholic Church, with burial in Highland Cemetery.
Survivors include sons Bill Beede of Townsend, Curtis M. Beede of Mainville, Ohio, and C.T. Doodle Beede of Proctor; daughters Joan Beede, Jean Molvig and Janet Beede, all of Glasgow, and Mary Morehouse of Fort Peck; 17 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Curtis Beede, in 1966.
