Hubert Thompson Sr.
CLAYTON, Ga. - Hubert Harold Thompson Sr, 58, of Clayton, died Saturday in the V.A. Hospital in Asheville, N.C. after a long illness.
A native of Rabun County, he was a son of the late Fred and Icie Blalock Thompson. He was a farmer and automobile mechanic, a veteran of World War II and a member of Persimmon Baptist Church.
Surviving are widow, Mrs. Tessie Mae Parker Thompson of Clayton; sons, LIVING; sisters, Mrs. Blanche Lovell of Tiger, Mrs. Ruth Darnell, Mrs. Cordelia Cannon and Mrs. Etrulia Hooper of Clayton, Mrs. Faye Moore of Hayesville, N.C.; four grandchildren.
Services at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Persimmon Baptist Church by the Revs. Waymond Lundsford and Carl Henry. Burial in the church cemetery.
