On Nov. 29, 2012 our loving father, husband and grandfather, Steven LaMar Tapp, lost his battle with a debilitating disease, which he fought with amazing dignity and optimism. He maintained his sense of humor to his final moments. He passed peacefully at home surrounded by his family and loved ones.
An active member of The Church Of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints he loved most being a home teacher and serving the last 8 years with his eternal companion and sweetheart at the Utah Valley Hospital. He was the father of 7 children 24 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren with 2 more on the way. He always said his riches were his children. He was filled with wonder and awe at God's creations and had a love for knowledge. He was a lifetime student of anything scientific. He designed and created many things always looking for a better way to do things and holds a number of patents. But anyone who knew him would tell you his greatest love is his sweetheart and eternal companion "Joe".
He is survived by his spouse, Nina Tapp, daughter Michelle Lye (Mark), daughter Diana Butterfield (Ken), daughter Jackie Beck (Chad), daughter Cheryle Jessen (Lane), son Mark (Jan), daughter Corinne Aagard (Douglas), and son Danny (Brandee). He was preceded in death by his parents, Hazel Alsop and Floyd George Tapp; brothers, Donald, Bill and Jack Tapp; sister-in-law, Tamera Tapp.
Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, December 4, 2012 at 11:30 am at the Lindon Stake Center, 1050 East 100 North, Lindon, UT, where Viewings will be held on Monday evening, December 3rd from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm and Tuesday morning from 10:00 am to 11:15 am.
