Alford Propes, 69, died Jan. 26, 1993 at his sister's residence in Jonesboro. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Mt. Pleasant, Ark.
Funeral services were held Jan. 28 at Jackson's Funeral Home chapel in Harrisburg. Interment was in Holly Springs Cemetery near Harrisburg, Rev. J.R. Tinkle officiating.
Survivors include his wife, Vedie (Williams) Propes of the hone; one son, James Alford Propes of Harrisburg; two brothers, Jim Propes of Jonesboro and Robert Propes of Bixby, Okla.; three sisters, Ada Jennings of Jonesboro, Iva Roberts of Harrisburg and Bessie Phillips of Bald Knob; two grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
