W.C. Jones was born near Kinmundy, Marion County, Ill. December 2, 1874 and died at his home near Delphos, Kansas August 21, 1909 aged 34 years 8 months and 19 days.
When he was but eleven months old his parents brought him to Kansas and they settled on a farm in Ottawa County near Delphos where he has resided all his life.

On May 28, 1892 he was united in marriage to Miss Minnie M. Smith. To this union was born four children, three daughters and one son. These with the wife and mother and one sister were left as chief mourners with a host of relatives and friends who will greatly miss him.

On July 2, 1902 he gave his heart to Christ and united with the ME Church of Delphos and remained a member until death.

He was an honored member of the IOOF lodge in Delphos, who took charge and conducted the funeral services after the services which were held in the Presbyterian Church, conduced by the pastor. These services were held in the Presbyterian church, because of the condition of the ditch about the ME Church.
