Obituary from the Edwardsville Intelligencer (Edwardsville, Madison County, Illinois), Friday, April 16, 1976:
   Wilbur W. Blackburn, 89, of 1251 Emerson St., a lifelong resident of the Edwardsville area, died at 12:15 p.m. Thursday in St. Joseph's Hospital in Highland, where he had been a patient for the last week.
   Mr. Blackburn had farmed in Pin Oak Township until retiring in 1967.
   He was born on Nov. 30, 1886, in Hamel Township. His parents were the late John and Medora Barnett Blackburn.
   He was married to Isola Buckles on March 12, 1913, in Pin Oak Township. She survives.
   Also surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Lester (Galdys) Bode of Edwardsville, a son, Wallace Blackburn of Portland, Me., five grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and a sister, Mrs. Florence B. Hess of Portland, Ore.
   A daughter, two sons, three brothers and three sisters preceded him in death.
   Mr. Blackburn served as town clerk of Pin Oak Township for more than 20 years. He was a member of the Madison County Farm Bureau and a former director and president of Hamel Mutual Insurance Co.
   He was the oldest living member of the First Presbyterian Church and had served as an elder of the church.
   Friends may call after 4 p.m. Friday at the Weber Funeral Home.
   A funeral service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Carl Bennett, pastor of First Presbyterian Church, officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery.
