CASTLEWOOD – Thelma Dishman Hulsey, 85, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, Dec. 15, 2004, at her home.
She was born Aug. 2, 1919, in Dickenson County, Va., daughter of the late Tyler and Lizzie Meade Dishman. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jess Harrison Hulsey, four sisters, Ellen Dishman, Lola Dishman, Daisy Sims and Eva Shelton, and four brothers, Lincoln Dishman, Sam Dishman, Donald Dishman and McCormick Dishman. She was a member of Brick Baptist Church, Castlewood.
She is survived by two daughters, Louise Casteel and husband, Dennis of Castlewood and Chris Maples and husband, Ralph of Castlewood; three granddaughters, Kim Dotson and husband, Larry of Hansonville, Va., Christy Maples of Castlewood and Misti Maples of Castlewood; two great-grandchildren, Joshua Horne and wife, LeAnn, and Sarah Beth Horne Johnson and husband, Beren; one great-great-granddaughter, Alexis Danielle Horne; three brothers, Warren Dishman of Dante, Va., Ralph Dishman of Mississippi, and Richard Dishman of Carbo, Va.; two sisters, Loretta Willard of Baltimore and Edna James of Baltimore; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Thelma Dishman Hulsey will be conducted at 7 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 16, 2004, in Castlewood Funeral Home Chapel, Castlewood, with Rev. Dwayne Musick officiating. Entombment and committal services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 17, 2004, in the Chapel of Love Mausoleum, Temple Hill Memorial Park, Castlewood. The family will meet at the funeral home and go in procession to the cemetery at 10:30 a.m. Friday. Pallbearers will be family and friends.
