Mary was born February 14, 1902, to William and Lucinda Bridgewater in Tyler, Texas, the oldest of three children.

Mary met and married John McDaniel, then moved to Eufaula, Oklahoma, where she united with Huttonville Baptist Church, serving in the Mission, until moving to Muskogee, Oklahoma, in 1950, where she united with Macedonia Baptist Church.

Mary attended all services faithfully, also her Circle #3, until her health began to fail her. In addition to her church work, her hobbies included quilting, growing plants and flowers and sharing her garden produce with all.

Mary departed this life, July 4, 2002, and the family waiting to greet her at heaven's gate are her parents, husband, John, two sons, Spencer and Howard, and one sister, Minnie.

The surviving family she leaves behind to thank God for the celebration of her life include her six daughters, Lucinda Lucas, of New York City, Johnnie Mae McGee, of Kansas City, Missouri, Arenita Gibbs, Verta Grant, Lee Anna (Cecil) Collins and Mae Collins, all of Muskogee, Oklahoma. One sister, Ophelia Dixon, of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Thirty-four grandchildren, one hundred and eleven great-grandchildren
and thirty great-great-grandchildren along with a host of other relatives and friends who will truly miss her.
