Floyd C. Harr, 89, Roaring Spring, died Wednesday morning, January 7, 2009 at Altoona Regional Health System, Bon Secours Hospital Campus.

He was born October 16, 1919, in Blair Township, son of the late Clement and Izetta (Claar) Harr. He married Alverda Sprow November 16, 1940, in Winchester, Va.

Surviving are his wife of 68 years; two daughters: Anna Zook and husband, Dale, and Charlotte Lemley and husband, Ray, all of Roaring Spring; nine grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; a number of stepgrandchildren; and a stepbrother, Kenneth Ferguson in Arizona. He was preceded in death by a son, Dalvin C. "Buck" Harr, December 27, 2008.

Mr. Harr retired from PennDOT as a truck driver.

He enjoyed traveling to and hunting in Wyoming.

He was a member of Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 805 S. 16th St., Altoona, where friends will be received from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. Saturday, and a funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. by Jay Finochio.
