Vera Frances Abercrombie Burrell, 81, wife of the late Chester J. Burrell, passed away on Thursday, September 6, 2012 at Greenville Memorial Hospital.

A native of Salem, SC, Mrs. Burrell was the daughter of the late Glazner Abercrombie, and Frances Savada Alexander Abercrombie. She retired from Torrington where she worked as an Inspector. She was a member of Little River Baptist Church. She was involved in WMU at Little River Baptist Church, and the Senior Sunday School Class.

Mrs. Burrell is survived by a son Eugene Burrell (Kay) of Walhalla, SC; daughter, Connie Buchanan (Bill) of Easley, SC; brothers, Harold Abercrombie (Bobbie) of Pickens, SC, and Howard Abercrombie of Seneca, SC; grandchildren, Sherry Fisher (Rick), Kevin Buchanan (Kala), Ricky Burrell, Daniel Nicholson, and Katie Nicholson; great-grandchild, Davis Buchanan; and brother-in-law and special friend Cleveland Alexander and son, Ricky, of Hot Springs, AR.

In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Burrell was preceded in death by a brother, Wilmer Abercrombie; sisters, Gladys Smith, Beatrice Orr, and Pauline Orr.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, September 8, 2012 at 2:00 PM at Little River Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Alexander Cemetery in Salem, SC.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, September 8, 2012 from 12:00-1:30 PM at Davenport Funeral Home.

The family is at their respective homes.
