David Thomas Ashley, 21, died at his Bemidji home Monday evening. Funeral services were at St. Philip's Church. Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery.
He was born in Bemidji Feb. 28, 1963 to Ernest and Evelyn Ashley. He grew up in Bemidji, attended St. Philip's School and graduated from Bemidji High School in 1981. He was in his senior year at Stanford University majoring in economics. He was a member of the Alpha Delta Phi fraternity.
He is survived by his parents; three brothers, Ernest Jr. of Casper, WY, Gary of Vadnais Heights, and James of Mound; six sisters, Marilyn (Curtis) Pelarski of Forest Lake, Carol (Brian) DeBlieck of Bemidji, Elizabeth (Russell) Bull of Racine, WI, Theresa (Les) McLaughlin of Bemidji, Margaret and Juanita Ashley, Minneapolis; and 18 nieces and nephews.
