Howard A. smith, 81, of Macon, passed away Thursday, May 7, 2009 at the Boone Hospital Center in Columbia. Howard was born on February 21, 1928, in Macon, the son of Isaac S. and Mattie (Bender) Smith. On April 28, 1951, in Macon, he was united in marriage to Deloris Wilcox. she survives. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, farming but especially spending time with his grandchildren. Besides his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Patricia Pore and her finance Bill Brown of Economy, Mo, and Michelle Hyde and her husband Richard of Atlanta, Mo; seven grandchildren Billy Hatter and Tiffany Hatter, Natascha Smith, Tricia Pore, Tara Pore, Nathaniel Lush and Isaac Hyde; five great-grandchildren; two sister-in-law, Bonnie Teter and Dorothy Wilcox; and several nieces and nephews. Howard was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers. Funeral services will be Tuesday, May 12, 2009 at 10;30 am at the Hutton & McElwain Funeral Home in Macon with Rev. Elaine Allred officiating.
