Elizabeth Jane Meeker married Alexander John McCartney on September 3, 1835 in New Albany, Floyd, Indiana. They had 5 children: Norman Meeker (b: 17 Aug 1837; married Mary Elizabeth Mackey); John H. (b: 1839, d: 19 Jan 1907; married Sarah Morris); Martha A. (b: 1841; married Joshua Mackey); Mary Vivian (b: Feb 1843; d: 1928; married Charles Mitchell) and Charles A. (b: Feb 1850; d: 29 Apr 1850). Alexander passed away 10 Aug 1850.

Elizabeth married John M. Totton (or Totten) on 3 Jun 1853. They had one son, Francis Miles Marion Totton, who was born in 1854 and died in 1910. Elizabeth is buried next to her oldest child, Norman Meeker McCartney.
