Mrs. Carbajal was born May 31, 1893, in Bent. They then came to Las Cruces to make their home. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1967.
A rosary and funeral mass was held at St. Genevieve's Catholic Church with burial following in St. Joseph's Cemetery. Officiating were the Rev.s Benjamin Mones, Ben Silva and Ed Dougil.
Survivors include three sons: Joe, Ruben, and Fred Carbajal, all of Las Cruces; two daughters: Hermila Wallace of Belle, MO, and Dolores Archuleta of Las Cruces; one sister, Epemenia L. Duran of Tularosa; one brother, Felipe L. Lachuga of Alamogordo; 14 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers are Reynaldo Archuleta, a son-in-law; Fred Carbajal Jr., Ruben Carbajal Jr., grandsons: Alex Chavez, Arturo Duran and Warrant Officer John Montoya of the U.S. Marine Corps, all cousins.
