Beloved father, grandfather, and friend, Billy Wayne Tarpley, age 75, passed away Oct. 22, 2012 in Salt Lake City. Born Nov. 15, 1936 in Plainview, TX to James and Florene Gardner Tarpley.

Married Edna LaRue Rhodes; later divorced. He honorably served his country as a marine. He loved his family and friends. He enjoyed helping others whenever he could. He loved his little dog, Angel and going for long walks. In younger years his love was racing cars. He raced at Rocky Mountain Raceway and many others.

He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He took all of his callings very seriously. Survived by his daughters, Cindy (Don) Toomey, Debra (Tom) Eaton, and Susan Duncan; 10 grandchildren; brothers, Randy (Gladys) Tarpley and Mike (Nancy) Tarpley; sisters, Linda (Mike) Pritchett, Carolyn Hill, Joyce (Bennie) Cross, and Louise (John) Watson; many nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by his parents; brother, Roy Tarpley; and sister, Doris Turner.
Funeral services will be held 12 noon Monday, October 29, 2012 at the Magna Stake Center, 3084 S 8400 W. A viewing will be Sunday 6-8 p.m. at Peel Funeral Home, 8525 W 2700 S, and Monday 11-11:45 a.m. at the church. Interment: Utah Veterans Memorial Park. Online condolences: www.peelfuneralhome.com
