Esther Shockley Nesson was the daughter of Alfred "Al" Shockley (b: BET 1814 AND 1815 in Clinton Co., Ohio) and Mary "Polly" E. Townsend) Shockley (b: 1817 in Kentucky).

Personally appeared before me Mrs. Esther Nesson being of the age of eight-one years, who being first duly sworn upon her oath deposes and says that on the 4th day of October 1855, she was married to Robert Roberts. That the said Robert Roberts died on the 2nd day of April 1862.
That the said Robert Roberts had never served in the Army or Navy of the United States and no application for pension was ever made by herself or any other person for her, based on such service.
That on the 15th day of January, 1863, she was married to Henry Nesson at Fairpoint, Minnesota, they living there as husband and wife, for forty years, moving to West Concord, Minnesota, in 1904, residing there up until the time of the death of the said Henry Nesson, which occurred on the 21st day of October, 1907, at Goldendale, Washington. That after the death of the said Henry Nesson, claimant continued to so reside at West Concord, Minnesota, until the 10th of September, 1919, when she came out to Cope, Colorado, to visit her daughter.
