Helen D., Stephen Maxwell, Julia Edith and John Pershing were children born to Stephen Jared and Edith Corrine Webster Corey. Stephen was the son of Ambrose Brookmire and Maria Fidelia Henry Corey, of Wi and MO. Edith was the daughter of Melvin A. and Julia ____Webster of NY.
John's father was a minister and due to his profession he traveled and the family lived in the mid-west. He also traveled to Africa and South America as a missionary.
30 Jan 1943 John enlisted in the U.S. Army. At this time he had earned a four year college degree and was employed as a lab tech.
15 Sep 1945 Rockford IL John married Shirley Jean Hamilton, daughter of Wilbur and Genevive June Doty Hamilton, both born IL. There marriage was blessed with a daughter.
John moved his family to Sacramento CA shortly after they were married where he worked as the Director of Social Welfare for Sacramento Co until his retirement, he and Shirley then moved to San Diego where they both lived out their lives.
