Born in Jay County on Sept. 11, 1922, to Veo and Ethel (Martin) Flory, he was married on Feb. 28, 1942, to Opal LaVonne Norris, who died on Jan. 15, 2005.
A farmer and mechanic, he had worked for the Jay County Highway Department and was a member of Bellfountaine United Methodist Church.
Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Phil (Nancy) Strait, Portland; two sisters, Rubynelle Mertz, Tucson, Ariz. and Annabelle Smith, Portland; three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Services are Tuesday at 10 a.m. in Baird-Freeman Funeral Home with Pastors Bob Denney and Joe Hines officiating. Burial will be in Salamonia Cemetery.
Visitation is Monday from 4 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Memorials may be sent to the Jay County Cancer Society or State of the Heart Hospice.
