Son of David and Lizzie (Price) Hammors. Siblings were Marvin Otto Hammors, William Owen Hammers, and Andrew Moore Hammers. Half brother was Louis Robert LaChance.

He worked for several years as a Bi-State bus driver in St. Louis, Missouri.


Obituary - Lawrence Hammers Died in St. Louis

Lawrence Calvin Hammers died Saturday, December 30, at the John Cochran Veterans Hospital in St. Louis. He was 73 years of age.
Mr. Hammers, son of the late David and Elizabeth Hammers, was born November 4, 1894, at Ste. Genevive. He married Frances Bisso November 25, 1919.
He is survived by his wife Frances; one daughter, May Branstetter of St. James; three grandchildren and one great granddaughter; two brother, Andrew Hammers of St. Louis and Marvin Hammers of Dearborn, Michigan.
Mr. Hammers was a Veteran of World War I.
Funeral services were conducted Monday, January 1, at the Jesse Gahr Funeral Home with Fred Bradley officiating. Miss Corrinne Stumpf was soloist, accompanied by Mrs. Jesse Gahr.
Pallbearers were Lawrence Branstetter, David Branstetter, Max Regier, Lowell Davis, Don Hughes and Dennis Kenney. Interment was in the Doe Run Cemetery with arrangements by the Jesse Gahr Funeral Home.

**Spelling of May Branstetter and Dennis Kenney wrong. It is Mae Branstetter and Dennis Keeney.

The newspaper obituary has 11/04/1894 but the death certificate and his military World War I draft registration has date of birth as 11/04/1895.
