Mrs. Dorothy Leverett Allen 83, of LaFayette, Alabama died Friday November 16, 2012 at the Oak Park Nursing Home In Auburn, Alabama.
Funeral services will be held Sunday November 18, 2012 at 3 PM at Jeff Jones Funeral Home with burial in the LaFayette City Cemetery, with the Rev. Maurice Logan officiating.
Mrs. Allen was born January 16, 1929 in Chambers County. She and her husband Ed Allen, Sr. owned & operated Allen's Flower Shop in LaFayette for 25 years. And also had served on the Chambers County Board Of Education for 12 years. She loved her children, grandchildren, & great grandchildren and she was loved by them.
She was preceded in death by her husband Ed Allen, Sr. and her grandson Jeremy Smith.
Survivors include her 4 children Betsy Allen Preston of Opelika,Al., Patty (Kenneth) Smith of LaFayette,Al., Jane Allen of Ft. Walton Beach, Fl., Ed (Kandi) Allen, Jr. of Dadeville, Al. Grandchildren Jayme (Dennis) Gardener, Karen Smith, Ben (Laura) Preston, Abbie (Erick) Stahura, Jake Hicks, Lacie Hicks, T.J., Wyatt & Colton Allen. And 7 Great Grandchildren. One brother Joe (Libba) Leverett of Snellville, Ga.
Visitation will be at the Funeral Home On Sunday from 2PM until 3PM prior to the Service. Jeff Jones Funeral Home, LaFayette, Al. in charge of arrangements.
