Gladys A. Ariens, age 76, of Brookville, Indiana died Tuesday, November 11, 2008 at McCullough-Hyde Memorial Hospital in Oxford, Ohio. Born December 7, 1931 in Manchester, Kentucky she was the daughter of the late Robert & Stanley (Hurst) Reed. She was united in marriage to Marian Bud Ariens in 1949, and he preceded her in death in 1994. She was a homemaker, and a member of the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary. Survivors include a daughter, Mary Ann Nichols of Brookville; a sister, Pearl Feller of Sunman, Indiana; two brothers, Benny Reed of Brookville, Indiana and Lonzo Reed of West Virginia; five grandchildren, Monica Ariens, Brian Ariens, Rhonda Nichols, Tammy Reece, and Charlie Nichols. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Mark Ariens, as well as three sisters. Family & friends may visit from 6 till 8:00 P.M. on Friday, November 14, 2008, at Phillips & Meyers Funeral Home, 1025 Franklin Avenue, Brookville. Funeral Services will be conducted on Saturday, November 15, 2008, 10:30 A.M., at Phillips & Meyers Funeral Home, with burial following in St. Michael Catholic Cemetery in Brookville.
