Model. An early 'supermodel', she is remembered for numerous fashion magazine covers. Raised in Toronto under poor circumstances after her father lost his job in the Depression, she was stunningly attractive from childhood and by her early teens was supporting her family with modeling jobs. At 14 Liz turned-down the role in "National Velvet" that made Elizabeth Taylor into a star and at 18 moved to New York and signed with the elite Ford Agency. She was soon gracing the pages and covers of "Harper's Bazaar", "Vogue", and similar publications and posing for the top photographers of the day including Richard Avedon. At 19 she went to Jamaica on a photo shoot where she met, was pursued by, and soon married wealthy British aristocrat John Pringle. In their first years together the Pringles lived in New York where Liz continued her modeling and John ran an upscale men's clothing shop. In the early 1950s the pair returned to Jamaica where they started and ran Round Hill, a top-drawer Montego Bay hotel and resort which soon became a magnet for the rich and famous. The couple sold Round Hill in 1961, relocated to London in 1967, and divorced in the early 1970s. Liz lived out her days in London where she was a respected interior designer.
