Marshal was the thirteenth child of Caleb and Dorothy (Patterson) Glisson. He was born in 1823 in Goshen, PA. Not much is known of either Marshall or Catherine. According to
the 1850 census Caleb was a farmer in Upper Merion Township in Montgomery Co. They had four children Caleb 1840, Anna Mary 1844, Eliza Jane 1845 and Emmor 1849. Also living with them was Joanna Patterson 1831 probably a relative on Dorothy's side. Marshall's mother's maiden name was Patterson. In 1860 they were living in Bridgeport, Montgomery Co. and had a daughter Rebecca 1860. Their son Emmor was no longer listed. Tombstone Inscriptions in Montgomery Co. PA, West Norriton Twp. Sherman and he sold or gave the lot to Marshall Glisson on Feb 28, 1867. There is no headstone on the lot.
